Amanda Brugel
(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on the part of Montreal called the West Island. The West Island, to those not familiar with it, is an extensive area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is often called her birthplace. However, she only was there for a brief time. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to dance but an increase in her height meant that she literally outgrew her dance partners. The article she wrote about her experience revealed that was published in The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. Former dancers often turn to acting, and in the case of Brugel it was an urging from her high school drama teacher. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to go after a role in the annual school production. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the annual school production. She was awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel's been performing in over 60 plays, smaller and large. The most notable was when she landed the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few instances in the initial season of The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian member.
